About Authority
Welcome to the Authority Guild. Authority is an Alliance-based World of Warcraft guild located on the Arthas server. Authority's membership includes players of all ages who enjoy and are dedicated to the many aspects of the World of Warcraft gaming experience. Membership is exclusive to level 80+ toons and to the alts of those players. Some exceptions are made for long-standing members (Veterans and Officers) who wish to play along side immediate real-time family members and close friends. Membership into the guild is exclusively and subjectively determined by the guild leadership. Members are expected to always represent Authority positively. Poor behavior such as name-calling, harassment, dishonesty, and derogatory or inflammatory statements will not be tolerated and are subject to ejection. Respect for fellow players, personal responsibility, and integrity are characteristics expected of Authority members.

THE VOTE IS IN

by Jenjiku, 19 days ago

Of the players that voted for the preferred temporary ICC25 man night, Saturday wins out. However, some of those players who signed up for Saturday could care less about which night...so the tally is about even.

As a compromise for everyone, let's do ICC25 on Friday of this week and on Saturday of next week...alternating for the next few weeks.

Everyone please make an effort to be here on raid night even if it isn't the first choice for you. The purpose of reducing down to one ICC25 raid night temporarily is to increase availability and attendance on the night that we do raid.

On our off-nights...we will do Ulduar 25 hardmodes for those who are interested.

The times they are a'chainging.

Some thing are up for change. Be sure to voice you opinion >>>HERE<<<

The first poll is when we want to raid, and the other is what we should do on the non-ICC night.
For the second question, if there is a response that i have not included please tell me and I will add it.

Recruiting Initiative - All Realms

by Jenjiku, 44 days ago

Authority of Arthas is opening recruiting again to fill some key raid slots. The success of Authority depends upon the reliability and participation of it's members on a regular basis.

Authority is a casual 25 man raiding guild that raids on Friday and Saturday nights between 7pm and Midnight. We are a progressive guild, but we expect it will take time to work through the bosses of ICC25. Our progression is listed to the left under "Raid Progression."

When Authority started in February 2008, it worked slowly through Karazhan, not making it much further than T4 content by the time WoTLK began. The existing members made a concerted effort to step up our recruiting, and by the time Ulduar was released, Authority had shot up to #13 Alliance guild on the server for 25 man content. In Ulduar, the 25 man progression waned somewhat as the content got a little harder and our more casual players weren't up for the level of dedication needed to succeed, but ultimately, 14 players received rusted protodrakes and we learned to be better raiders.

With the release of ToC, we were able to gear up some key players, and the ease of the content was just what we needed after a long, arduous go at Uldaur. Now, we are back to hard content in ICC25, and such content requires that the casual player turn it up a bit and find creative and exceptional ways to bring something to the raid to make it better.

Authority has always prided itself on it's goal to be better players through hard work, friendship, reliability, and dedication. We don't become a better team by treating people bad, such as name calling and the like. We don't become a better team by playing the blame game when a boss isn't going down. We don't become a better team with the attitude "I am better than you and you just suck."

We become a better team through mutual respect, individual improvement, team cooperation, and patience.

If you are interested in joining a guild that focuses on fairness and positive reinforcement, then Authority might be for you. All we ask is that you come to the raid expecting to down bosses only after hard work, and we also ask that you be a part of the team by showing up consistently. We will need you.

Although we don't claim to be a perfect guild, we do claim that we are trying to be a better guild, and when Cataclysm comes out, we will make another jump, and someday we may just be the top cheese.

Please click "Apply to Guild" and answer the questions thoroughly if you are interested in joining Authority. Please be sure that you are fully geared in mostly 245 gear or better, as the guild needs to focus on ICC content in our limited schedule rather than gearing up players.

Any tanks that wish to apply, please have an equally good DPS set, as tank spots are limited.

RANKS CHANGES - effective FEBRUARY 1, 2010

by Jenjiku, 58 days ago

RAID RANK CHANGES

Rank changes will come into effect on February 1, 2010. Ranks will be adjusted to conform to the following guidelines:

Purpose

1. To give players and officers clear boundaries on rank changes.
2. To allow for fluidity while maintaining a strict guide for participation.

Numbers

Rank will be based upon EP:

6000+ Core Raider
4000+ Raider
1000+ Standby Raider

A player will attain one of the above ranks by maintaining the corresponding EP score for 2 consecutive weeks.

A player will be demoted when they drop below their rank minimum for 2 consecutive weeks.

How rank affects participation

Players with a higher rank get priority over players with lower rank for raid spots. However, players will have a time limit for receiving this guarantee.

At 7:00pm or raid start time on the calendar, Core Raider and Raider ranks will get get selected for a raid slot, depending on class needs. At 7:15 or 15 minutes after initial invites go out, players of those ranks will have given up their guaranteed spot to make room for Standby Raiders and Initiates. After the raid is full, players will be placed on standby according to rank.

Exceptions: If the raid is short tanks and healers and a player let's us know they are going to be late and their participation is required for the raid in order for it to happen with competency, then a slot will be saved for that person regardless of rank, provided the lateness is not excessive (i.e. more than 15-30 mins late). Raid leaders are an exception to this rule as well for obvious reasons, as long as the time-again-is not excessive.

Notes

A 10% decay may apply every week on Monday. This frequency may be adjusted depending on the raid content. For example, decay would be applied a lot less frequently for raids similar to TOC where raid time is shortened and the opportunity to earn EP is shortened.

The rank EP minimums may be adjusted from time to time with notice depending on the raid content. The harder the content and the more time spent will ultimately cause minimum EP rank to be higher.

How EP is awarded will not change.
